ARE  YOU  IN  THIS  MYTH  ABOUT 11th/12th  IIT JEE  AND  YOUR  10TH ?

If you are IIT JEE aspirants then this may be useful in many extents. The  myth 10th class students have when they finish with their 10th boards and heading towards career in engineering. Myth usually students  have is that they think 11th and 12th as easy as 10th. But the truth is  the scenario changes totally when a student opt science in  11th/12th with IIT JEE preparation.

Class 10th and class 11th are totally different level with respect to many things, here are some differences based on various aspect. 

The thing one must keep in mind while moving from 10th standard to 11th is that 10th is very little in comparison with 11th and 12th difficulty wise. but when the matter comes about entrances such as IIT JEE then 10th is like Jyoti Amge whereas IIT JEE as The Great Khali.

Following are some comparisons made between 10 and 11th/12th with various aspects:

ACCORDING TO SYLLABUS:

Comparing the 10th board syllabus with the 12th board we come to know that there are each 5 subjects in both the boards but the subjects matter. Where class 10th has core subjects as Science, Social Science, Mathematics; class 12th meet with various diversions like science, commerce, arts, humanities, so and so. But our topic of interest is a science with core subjects as (PCM) or physics, chemistry, and mathematics(for IIT JEE aspirants). The remaining two subjects are optional like we can opt English language, CS or computer science, physical education, etc.

Moving towards the actual syllabus i.e number of chapters here are the following details:

class 10 subjects	science	mathematics	social science(excluding omitted chapters)	total
no of chapters	16	15	18	49

class 12 subjects	physics	chemistry	mathematics	total
no of  chapters	15	16	13	44

If we count the total we find 5 more chapters in core subjects of class 10 NCERT, but it is wrong to judge the book by its cover likewise it is wrong to compare lengthiness of syllabus by its number of chapters too.

ACCORDING TO DIFFICULTY LEVEL:

If we compare class 10th and 11th/12th  by its complexity level we can say that there is a tremendous increase in difficulty level for classes 11 and 12. But when one discusses the entrance called IIT JEE difficulty level is again multiplied by two if we really wish to score good rank in IIT JEE( mains and advance)

This is the main reason why many of the kids start their IIT JEE preparation early from standard 6th and 7th

ACCORDING TO IMPORTANCE:

If we look towards the importance of class 10 board score it's really insignificant, but class 12th board score can really define once future. One can get their admission in collages of graduation through the 12th board score. For IIT JEE aspirants it is important to have the consciousness that your 12th board score matter. One needs to score more than 75% to get qualify for IIT and NIT collages.

RATTA/ LEARNING BY ROTE WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING:   

Class 10th is absolutely easy and many students just tackle it by learning sentences of science and many learning sums of mathematics also. But you need to understand concepts of subjects otherwise you will never be able to score well in the IIT JEE exam.
